度過難關怎麼說？關於颱風的單字、俚語

2024年真的有好多颱風啊～

不知道颱風假期間大家都做了些什麼？是安心待在家中休息，還是趁機把平時來不及看的書或影片一口氣追完了呢～XD

這次我們特別準備了幾個實用的颱風相關英文詞彙，讓你們在描述颱風天氣時可以更自信，

也能和外國朋友分享這段他們國家可能沒有的經歷喔！

 

颱風 (Typhoon) 的用法

 

• Typhoon – 颱風
   The typhoon is expected to make landfall tomorrow. 颱風預計會在明天登陸。

 

• Heavy Rain – 大雨
  Heavy rain is expected during the typhoon, so stay indoors if possible.
  颱風期間預計會有大雨，所以盡量待在室內。

 

• Strong Wind – 強風
  The strong wind from the typhoon caused power outages in several areas.
  颱風帶來的強風導致多個地區停電。

 

• Flooding – 淹水
  There might be flooding in low-lying areas due to the typhoon.
  由於颱風，低窪地區可能會發生淹水。

 

 

關於颱風的俚語

 

• The calm before the storm – 暴風雨前的寧靜
  👉意思以及常用情境：在困難或激烈情況出現之前的短暫平靜。
  The office was unusually quiet; it felt like the calm before the storm. 辦公室異常安靜，感覺像是暴風雨前的寧靜。

 

• Weather the storm – 度過難關
  👉意思以及常用情境：克服或忍耐困難的情況。
  Our team worked hard to weather the storm of budget cuts. 我們團隊努力度過了預算削減的難關。

 

• Take by storm – 完全征服或迅速成功
  👉意思以及常用情境：某人或某事迅速成為熱門或取得成功。
  The new app took the market by storm. 這個新應用迅速征服了市場。

 

• Steal someone’s thunder – 搶走他人的風頭
  👉意思以及常用情境：在他人之前採取行動，讓別人的功勞或風頭被搶走。
  She stole his thunder by announcing the news first. 她搶先發布消息，搶走了他的風頭。

 

• Storm in a teacup – 小題大做
  👉意思以及常用情境：對小事過度反應。
  Their argument was just a storm in a teacup. 他們的爭論只是小題大做。
